Golden Plover Pluvialis apricaria
Wanstead Flats, London
#0671

Golden Plover are rare on my patch, so it was a huge surprise to get two on the deck, and even more amazingly they stayed for about half an hour. Crappy light and snow, combined with a lack of tripod or any other support, made it rather difficult to get decent images, but these were taken from a prone position with the lens resting on a tussock, so came out OK.
