Just returned from a trip to Shetland to twitch the Pine Grosbeak at Collafirth. Naturally that wasn't the only thing I did - spent a happy couple of hours attempting Gulls in flight. Here are a few of a young Kittiwake that made a couple of close passes at Lerwick Catch - the birds hang around the processing plant where the trawlers come in, hoping for scraps that come from the outfall. Nice soft evening light at around 4pm. I reckon I could get into photographing Gulls in flight if I did it more!
